Hello, my name is Joe Rozsa. I’m an eCommerce Solution Delivery Consultant professionally, and have had the good fortune of launching start-up ecommerce sites for some pretty well known brands, such as Harley-Davidson, DSW, Caterpillar and Campmor.com. I am currently working as the V.P. of eCommerce for theChive.com, running day to day operations of TheChivery.com.
Over the years, I’ve had the benefit of working on some terrific teams with some great people who have become great friends professionally and remain great friends personally today. I still work closely with many of those talented people on client work, when possible, and also on some of my personal ecommerce projects. I learned early on that when you want to deliver something great, a talented team of people who you can trust is the key first step in that process.
As an entrepreneur with a passion for commerce, I have a few online stores of my own that I own and manage, and I use many of the best practices that I’ve learned over the years managing multi-million dollar revenue sites that I do for my own sites. Also note that I mentioned the word “commerce”, rather than eCommerce. Today, it is more important than ever to be able to provide your customers with an opportunity to shop with you regardless of where they may be at a given time. Transactions on mobile devices are the fastest growing channel of commerce today, so it is more important than ever to deliver a seamless experience across desktop, tablet, mobile, social, and even in store when applicable.
I specialize in enterprise eCommerce platforms such as IBM WebSphere Commerce (Harley-Davidson and Campmor.com), but I have a lot of experience with other platforms as well. I manage my own online stores using Shopify, Volusion, Magento, BigCommerce, and even WooCommerce in WordPress. The DSW site that I launched in 2008 was done in ATG, now Oracle ATG Web Commerce, and I’ve been tinkering with Hybris recently as well as DemandWare, one of the largest SaaS eCommerce platforms that runs the ecommerce sites for some of the most well known retailers in the United States. My goal is to be as well-rounded and informed of a consultant as I can be to clients on virtually any ecommerce platform.
I live in Austin, Texas since moving here in mid-2013 after spending my entire life in various parts of Ohio, the previous 18 years in Central Ohio. My family and I are definitely all-in with central Texas now, and we’re enjoying the benefits of the wonderful weather in one of the coolest cities in the country.
Despite moving to Texas, I’m still and always will be a huge Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan, and I’m now within driving distance of being able to watch my Dallas Cowboys play football on Sundays as well. So even though this blog is going to be 95% business, you may see a few posts around sports or specifically my favorite teams.
As always, please let me know if you have any eCommerce questions or if you should want to contact me about contract or full time employment. I’d be happy to have a conversation with you to talk about how I may be a good fit for helping your business.
